The Las Vegas Strip is an approximately four mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard South. Many of the largest hotel, casino and resort properties in the world are located on the Las Vegas Strip. Nineteen of the world's 25 largest hotels by room count are on the Strip, with a total of over 67,000 rooms. One of the 19, the Las Vegas Hilton, is an "off-Strip" property but is located less than half a mile east of the Strip. One of the most visible aspects of Las Vegas' cityscape is its use of dramatic architecture. The modernization of hotels, casinos, restaurants, and residential high-rises on the Strip has established the city as one of the most popular destinations for tourists.
The Nevada Gaming Commission defines the Strip gaming area as encompassing all resorts located on Las Vegas Boulevard South between Russell Road and Sahara Avenue, as well as several nearby properties not directly located on Las Vegas Boulevard. This includes The Rio, The Palms, and several other smaller resorts west of Las Vegas Boulevard. Properties located east of Las Vegas Boulevard on Paradise Road, such as the Las Vegas Hilton, Terrible's Casino, Westin Casuarina Las Vegas Hotel, Casino & Spa, Hooters Casino Hotel, and the Hard Rock, are also included in this area.
While not on the Strip itself, the Las Vegas Monorail runs on the east side of the Strip from Tropicana Avenue to Sahara Road. RTC Transit provides service on the Strip with double decker buses known as The Deuce. The Deuce runs between Mandalay Bay at the southern end of the Strip to the Downtown Transportation Center (DTC) near Fremont Street, with stops near every casino. A tourist trolley service travels up and down the Strip and stops at various, but not all, Strip hotels, along with a stop at the Fashion Show Mall. In addition, the Strip has made efforts to be particularly friendly to pedestrian traffic as well.
The Fiefs of the Strip
North Strip
Allies Available: Fiscal
Comprised of the more ritzy casino resorts, the North Strip stretches from one block from Desert Inn Road to Sands Avenue. It's here that the glamor is more elegance than glitz. The Wynn and the Venetian attempt to mix old world with new world in a clash of marble and neon. In these casinos you'll find the old money gamblers in plush private rooms and those desperate for their attention mingling in the clubs and bars. While it's common knowledge that no one actually lives on the Strip, it isn't true either. A good number of the top-level suites in the elegant hotels here are permanently rented out to high-rollers who choose to live with daily room service instead of the maids they could surely afford. There's often a waiting list several years long to even be able to rent one of the penthouse apartments, but as they say "time is money" or in this case, "money is time" - every one who is any one knows that the right greased palms can open up a suite remarkably quick.
Benefits Available
- Expression, Politics or Socialize
- At any given time there’s a number of wheelers and dealers to be found on the Las Vegas Strip. Business deals are pushed and closed over poker tables and bar stools. Multimillion dollar bets are placed on the roll of the dice. No where in Vegas does money flow so easily (and quickly) and where there’s money, there’s influence. You know who calls the shots in Las Vegas and as such, once per week, you can ask them to call a shot for you. Once a week you can set a 1-week roadblock on either a Fief or a Site equal to the successes gained on a Presence + Socialize roll.
- One of the best kept secrets of the major casinos is the fact that not all of the money that passes through their hands is legit, or at least, it doesn’t start legit. More than a few mob bosses use the various Vegas hotels as elaborate money laundering schemes - and they’re good at it, very very good. Having access to this level of expertise allows you to use the level 2 allies use “Launder money” as a bolded use once per week.

South Strip
Allies Available: Media
The South Strip is the largest part of the Las Vegas strip and it's home to the majority of the casino resorts; it's this section of the Strip that graces movie and television screens across the world. Home to memorable constructs such as the scale version of New York City (courtesy of New York-New York) and the Eiffel Tower (courtesy of Paris), it's here that most tourists of all ilk flock. Walking down the South Strip you'll see movie stars mingling beside pale couples from Ohio. Here the gambling table is the great equalizer, provided you can afford the buy-in. The nightclubs and bars of the South Strip see the best courtesans and gold diggers, it sees the more subtle drug dealers, and above all it sees people who want to get somewhere.
Benefits Available
- Persuasion, Streetwise or Subterfuge
- The South Strip holds some of the most memorable hotels in the United States. Memorable because movie cameras splash them across the silver screen for all the world to see. It’s here that you’ll find cameras rolling and writers stalking, looking for the best angles. Knowing these masters-of-theater gives you a leg up when it comes to spinning a story or spreading a rumor. Once per week you can lower the Masquerade heat by 1 for problems caused by overhunting (of any domain).
- Knowing the writers is just one step up from knowing the staff (but several away from knowing the cast). At this level of influence you often find yourself unremarked on as you move behind scenes at one of the various movie shoots that seems to always be happening. It’s from this prospective that you’ve learned what the movie business is all about - lies. You may use 9-Again on any mundane subterfuge rolls.
